Get Your Blog Web Metrics With IZEA

Lately many bloggers wrote about problem with web metrics provided by Alexa and Compete. Problem is that their numbers are totally dependent on what they gather from users who are using their Firefox and Internet Explorer toolbars. Mostly this consists of people who are trying to inflate their website’s Alexa and Compete ranking by running the toolbar. In other words, both Alexa and Compete’s data is meaningless.

There is a new site on the web metrics block named IZEARanks. Their approach is to track real traffic like Google Analytics does by having users embed a snippet of script on their website, which sends unique visitor and pageview data back to IZEA. This will provide an accurate accounting of a website’s traffic ranking compared to other sites that are running the IZEA script. I think IZEARanks has a bright future because it provides real traffic data that can’t be manipulated the way that toolbar-dependent metrics can.

Unfortunately IZEA site still has some minor errors. For example I couldn't add my blogs today, but they provided a message that said: "Our programmers are informed and error will be repaired soon". I certainly hope so, because I really want that new web metrics!!!

Big Blow for Domain Name Registrars

Big blow for domain name registrars from Google. Well at least for those who pratice this practice we would talk about in this post. What is all fuss about? According to latest news on several web pages:

Domain name registrars have displayed a tendency to register DNS names for themselves, based on recent searches conducted by users of their public WHOIS databases. They don't have any intention of keeping these DNS names longer than the typical five-day grace period, but during that time, they can deploy those fake pages that pretend to be search portals.
Google say that those fake search portals rack up millions in advertising revenue for DNS registrars who partake in "domain name tasting." Because of that Google is planning to implement policies that disable DNS registrars' ability to use AdSense advertising in "tasting" operations.

Bob Parsons, the CEO of the largest DNS registrar, GoDaddy, wrote a lengthy missive against the practice in April 2006.
Millions of good .COM domain names - on any given day over 3.5 million and climbing - are unfairly made unavailable to small businesses and others who would actually register and use them in ways for which the names were intended,
Parsons wrote.
Many times businesses accidentally let their domain names expire. When they go to renew them, they find they have been snapped up - and taken away with a huge expensive hassle to follow - by an add/drop registrar.
I am also very happy to hear that news from Google, because I am planing to buy my own domain name and web hosting deal and I don't want something similar happen to me before domain expires.

But we all have to admit: This was probably business of the century for Domain name registrars. Will prices of domain name go up after their piece of cake becomes very small???

BloggingZoom Hacked

Apparently some people don’t have anything productive to do with their time, because a pack of losers somewhere has hacked BloggingZoom and totally jacked up the server it’s on. Right now we’re working on getting the site back up, and during this time we would appreciate it if you guys could help us to spread the word. I’m sure there are people that have no idea what’s going on and we would like everyone to understand the situation.

The truth is that BloggingZoom is growing very quickly and that obviously poses a threat to quite a few different people. I’m not going to name any names but there are a few different groups and individuals that would stand to benefit if they could slow down the growth of the site.

Vic and I are both making investments that you guys would consider to be very large to ensure that BloggingZoom is here to stay - the site is growing and we will not be stopped by a bunch of weak hooligans that have to resort to this because they can’t come up with something that provides this level of benefit to bloggers. How Cash Quest Made $500 From A Single Post

I run into great article which was named "How I Made $500 From A Single Post", but I renamed it. I recommend Cash Quest site to all online money makers! You will find very interesting stuff there. I also noticed that Kumiko doesn't use AdSense anymore. Did I missed something???

Here is the good stuff she wrote. Enjoy!:

Two months ago I came up with a plan to make money online that I couldn’t resist testing out. It worked and I made a little over $500 just by writing a single post.

The plan was created after I found a fantastic affiliate program that paid a cool $15 per lead. The program involved a 14-day free trial offer and all I had to do was sign people up to the program to make $15.

The first thing I did was find 25 active forums that either directly or loosely related to the category that the affiliate program covered and made an account on each forum under an alias. I then headed over to Digital Point forums and found a professional forum poster who was willing to write 100 forum posts for just $10. He had received quite a lot of positive feedback so I made an arrangement with him to write 100 posts on each of the 25 forums (using my account) for $250 and sent the money - I know it was a risk, but without risk you don’t get rewards!
The forum poster did his job well. The forum posts weren’t the highest quality but they achieved the goal that I wanted - to create an active account on each forum with a certain amount of authority.

I then spent some time writing a single sales post for the affiliate program. Incentives were allowed so to make it really irresistible, I added that I would send $5 to every person who tried it out and gave the reason for this as being that I was interested in their feedback about the program. The $5 didn’t matter as I would still make $10 per lead.

I sent the sales post to my forum poster with an extra $5 and asked him to start a new thread on each of the forums that used the sales post.

The established forum account and the wording of the offer were all designed to make it all appear as legitimate, risk-free and irresistible as possible. I didn’t want the forum thread to look like spam and I’m a big believer in the “make them an offer they can’t refuse approach” so that’s exactly what I aimed for.

The results were that an average of about 3 people per forum signed up to the program. Some forums didn’t get any bites at all, but some did very well. Those sign-ups resulted in over $1000 from the affiliate program and once I had paid out the $5 to those who signed up, I was left with a little over $500 profit.

With all the organization and administration involved, it probably equated to about two days work - but now that I have the accounts I can use the same system again with different affiliate programs and the earning potential is almost unlimited.

I love making money online!

Feedburner and AdSense Officially Integrated

There's really nothing spookier than hollow, empty ad spaces rattling around your blog and/or web site, putting no cash in your pocket nor any extra hob- in your goblin. Before you banish these underperforming idlers to some distant house upon a lonely hill, we recommend redeeming them with a chance to boost your earning potential. This Halloween, the FeedBurner development team is asking those of us who do the announcing around here to make note of the now-available integration of FeedBurner site ads and AdSense.

This newly integrated capability — designed just for FeedBurner-powered content like yours — puts relevant AdSense content ads to work on your blog and/or website. (Note: AdSense options for feeds not available at this time.) If you choose to activate this service, you can run a 300x250 or 468x60 text or image AdSense ad on your blog. The ad will appear below the first item on your site and archive pages once you have installed the necessary code. Ad content is automatically targeted to complement your site and you will earn revenue each time visitors click on ads. You can even customize the colors (or use a saved color palette from your AdSense account) so the ad unit fits your site's look and feel. Check out these 300x250 examples below.

You don't have to be part of FeedBurner's ad network to put these ads on your site, but be sure to review Google's policies for participating to make sure your site's content is eligible, as these ads are subject to AdSense terms and conditions. Once you're signed up for AdSense, you can check out all the other ways you can monetize your site with ads near your non-feed-powered content. If you are currently part of the FeedBurner Ad Network (FAN), and you've configured your site to run ads, AdSense ads will be inserted on your web site only when there are no FeedBurner Ad Network ads available for those placements (if you choose).

  • Get Started
To activate the service, sign in to your FeedBurner account, select your feed and go to the Monetize tab where you can connect this service to your AdSense account (if you already have one), or create a new AdSense account (if you don't). This service is currently available to members of FAN and all manner of FeedBurner publishers who go >bump< in the night, but haven't yet joined FAN. (Note: If you have enabled FeedFlare for your site, you've already added the magic code that makes these ads go where they need to go, so connect your account to AdSense on the Monetize tab and you're ready to earn!)

This announcement was borrowed from official Feedburner blog.

Common Mistakes Of Make Money Online

Affiliate marketing is appealing and attractive, people are prone to believe that affiliate Marketing is capable of giving them great fortune overnight.

Stories of people earning thousands of dollars swim in their heads, and while these stories are true as they can be, there are those who believe that they are going to have the same fortune, once they indulge in this particular business It is the true that affiliate Marketing can be financially rewarding. Many Marketers enjoy the kind of existence that was would not be possible for them to have under ordinary circumstances.

But going to A–Z of affiliate Marketing those people are the ones who know that there is absolutely no easy money in it.

Ignorance of this fact is the main reason why people do fail miserably in the Internet business. Thousands have wasted time, effort and money in trying to pursue the life of ease that they believe this business will give them. They go into Affiliate Marketing armed with nothing then dreams, myths and some kind of ‘guru’ instruction, never realizing that they are bound to make mistakes that would prove to be their downfall.

What is the reason why in Affiliate Marketing many are called, but few are chosen ?

We already mentioned the main fact, it’s called ‘ignorance’ concerning how the business runs.

Affiliate Marketing is not as simple as it seams and is far more complex then running a promotion from a merchant’s website through pay-per-click (PPC). Affiliate Marketing is all about knowing the market, the customers and how purchase process works.

Discovering the common mistakes can perhaps dispel the gloom and correct some wrong notions about it. Like in any other business, there are dos and dont’s involved. The most common mistake of a Newbie is the lack of knowledge concerning Affiliate Marketing principles involved. This refers to Search Engine issues in particular.
The first common mistake. Affiliate Marketing is advertising, but advertising through the Internet is completely different then traditional advertising. Search Engines are the main thing to focus on, every affiliate has to make these search engines his best friend, through studying search engine optimization (SEO) closely. Knowing how a search engine determine what website appears at position #1 is one of the most important facts a serious affiliate marketer has to know. Only this way he is able to know what to do in connection with building a better website, write a better article and build a powerful Blog or Squidoo Lens.

The second common mistake is the website design itself and it’s content. We see all the time sites who are stuffed with banners, Adsense advertising or completely wrong designed in respect to the colors, meaning that the website is hard to read. Make it simple and do build your site relevant to what you are offer, images are OK when they help to transmit the message of the product, but only in this situation. If you use advertising like Adsense or similar you always have to bear in mind that this is a easy way for a visitor to leave your Website without to take any action in respect to your main offer.

The text has to be readable, in respect to the font and size, as well to the colors you use for the text and his background. Then all has to be relevant to what you are offering. A visitor need to find a answer to what he is looking for.

The third common mistake many affiliates do make is that they promote only one product on their website.

Consequently, visitors are not given enough options to choose from. This is of course only a issue if you are trying to sell over a website. If you are offering products over a pay-per-click campaign and link directly to the merchant’s website you cannot influence that part. But this form of advertising is for advanced Internet Marketers only and we highly recommend that you do not spend your money at PPC before you ain’t have the knowledge how Internet Marketing as a system works, or you most probably will loose your investment.

The fourth common mistake is that affiliates promote too many and/or not relevant products. Visitors are confused and can’t find an answer to their problem, as a result they leave your website without taking any action. You have to give them a few options, but only the best choices. This because it is ultimately up to them to judge which product is the best for them to buy. And please take the “relevancy” very serious. A visitor in the final “buyer mood” wants to see laser targeted solutions for his problem, or he will not
give credibility to a website.

Affiliates that are doomed to fail in this business are those who do not exert enough effort to understand everything involved in the industry, and there are much more details to take care of then only the four common mistakes we mentioned here.

There is no other way to succeed as a Internet Marketer then to go through any path slowly, but surely. And the best way to do this is to learn what it takes from who knows, and offers unconditional support for his members. I am talking about the Wealthy Affiliate University, quoted as the best membership website with over 7800 members, available for one of the lowest monthly fees you will find online. Membership includes plenty of free items such as hosting, website builder, keyword tools, pre-build websites, a job area for instant cash, etc. and last but not least a absolutely fantastic forum.

How Can Friends Find You in Facebook

How Can Friends Find You in Facebook. Well this tricks are very good if you want to increase your Facebook popularity and increase your blog or site traffic. Of course if you have your blog or site link in your Facebook profile!

Import Your Blog Posts, or Social Feeds

Make sure you already have asserted your own copyright and that you read their T's and C's before proceeding.

Another thing Jeff Pulver mentioned to me in Facebook is that your audience in Facebook and in the Blogosphere may be different, so this isn't for everyone. There's not enough space to go into it here, but several variations on this can explode your results.

Get to Know Clients, Colleagues and Mentors Better

Many people think of LinkedIn when they hear about this tip, another of my favorite sites. (Google "Vincent Wright LinkedIn" and you'll get tons of great, free information.) It's a great site to network at if you have a specific professional purpose in mind.

However, if you want to get to know people, with no particular agenda in mind, Facebook is better. It's not an either/or type of thing, they're just different tools.

Once you've made some type of connection with someone in Facebook, you can unobtrusively learn about your online pals, and use the little tidbits to make small talk about common interests, which can lead to conversation, which can lead to phone calls and other offline encounters.

The reason this is so powerful is that it mimics the way we get to know people in our offline lives.

Familiarity goes a long way to establishing trust. Add in the transparency that occurs from them seeing your news, and you're doing two things with your clients that your competition is not.

Who would you buy from, someone you trust, or a company where you're just another number?

Participate in Groups

The emphasis is on participation. Interact and get to know people.

Be more concerned about connecting with others than about gaining site traffic. To get more involved, you can stop by occasionally and contribute content. You'll get the best effect from joining the discussion board conversations.

If you're looking for business related groups to start with, try Mark Joyner's Simpleology, Jeremiah Owyang's Web Strategy Group, Open for Web Business, or Facebook for Business.

Once people start to see your name come up in conversations, on their Facebook home page and in discussion boards, they click on your profile to learn more about you, which often begins interaction. Of course, they can also surf to your site through your profile. You can even start your own group, or a fan page about your business.

Upload videos

The kinds that seem to go over best are short, simple videos with just you, a plain or simple background (white wall or you at your desk). If you're a bit too shy for the camera, think about a video capture of your screen as you demonstrate something important (also called a screencast).

They can be up to 15 minutes long, in a variety of formats, and up to 300MB in size. It's free, and it automatically translates from their allowed formats into a format viewable by all browsers.

Share Links

When you share a link on your profile, your friends can get a notification of this, and they can also easily share it with their friends. Big deal right? But if you have 100 friends who average about 100 friends, the right link, exposed virally, can spread as if you emailed it link to 10,000 contacts.

As with email, not everyone will pay attention to it, and of those who do, not all of them will act on that information. But for the price of free, without spam? Can't be beat.

If that weren't enough, you can share links in Groups now on Facebook. So that means if you are an active participant in 20 groups of over 1000 people, you have added a potential 20K to your audience.

Hint: Link sharing works better when you're being helpful and have a track record of being an open, sharing person, not just constantly posting links from your own site.

And there you have it, five fun, free ways to utilize Facebook to enhance your business.

Just ignore them, and join the group of quiet marketers who are learning the laid back ways of social media marketing.

You don't have to spend your day on Web 2.0 sites to promote yourself either. Often, when your profile is properly set up, it can generate leads for you with a minimum of upkeep- free. Not to mention advertising opportunities that are appropriate for some sites.

Increase Blog Popularity With Social Bookmarking

The only way to effectively increase your blog's popularity with social bookmarking is to spread out your endeavors across multiple social media sites. This may include Technorati, Google Links, Del.ici.ous, and Yahoo! Links where your individual articles and submissions are mentioned either within another blog, or standing alone in a particular category.

Tools such as SocialMeter can help you keep track of how well your blog or webstie is doing in the social bookmarking networks at any given time. SocialMeter scans the largest social websites and ranks them against each other based on how many times your link or website is indexed in each one. You just type in your URL and the results will run a search on each site to give you a final tally.

Badges and 'chiclets', the tools that you can add to your blog or website are very effective ways to develop your social bookmarking activity. Your blog's popularity will instantly increase because you are:

  1. Providing users increased interaction. You'll be surprised how many static sites that make this shift can start building traffic with very little direct marketing. Once the news spreads that you are offering this added value to your website, you can look forward to increased traffic on a regular basis.
  2. Making it easy to reach Digg and other social bookmarking networks hat allow users to vote. Voting and rating articles is becoming a very popular activity on the web, and if you write something particularly compelling you can start to create a traffic boost overnight.
  3. Increasing your exposure naturally in the social networking hemisphere. Social networking and bookmarking gives you a chance to increase your exposure tenfold; visitors who find an article worth sharing will help you reach a much more targeted and refined audience than simply publishing a website and hoping to get readers. You will be delivering your news and information with a much stronger reach.
In addition to promoting yourself on social bookmarking sites, there are some effective ways to market the blog itself. Again, this will encourage your visitors to share the 'news' from your blog on their own. Some effective strategies for blog promotion may include:
  1. Join an RSS submission network. These will help you submit to an even larger listing of sites, all from the RSS feeds that you create. Syndication allows you to reach a much larger audience, and building a steady list of subscribers can increase traffic flow instantly.
  2. Post announcements about your blog and website on forums, bulletins, and community boards. When you have identified your specific channels, start promoting yourself with news announcements, new articles, or simply an introduction to community members. Include your link and you'll easily start to drive traffic.
  3. Join discussion groups and forums about your industry or topic, and leave a link to your blog or website in your profile every time you post.

Do You Use Web Site or Blog Conversion?

Do you even know if your web site or blog converts? Well, believe it or not web site conversion is about taking analytics and the statistic or information from your files and programs, then using them to help your visitors find what they are looking for on your web site. It guides them to do certain things while they are on your site. Like a navigational system.

Things like buying your products or reading information you might have listed on your web site for instance. Or to get them to sign up for email newsletters the opportunities are endless obviously.

Internet web site conversion simply put, allows you to show your visitors all about your web site, what its about, products and information, then in turn asks them to give you information to send them special offers or newsletters via email or regular mail. In a big way, you find out exactly what it is your customers are looking for and what it is they would like to see on your web site. Products, information, sales, whatever the case might be.

By getting your site to convert and give reasonable style with measurable return on your investing in your website it's the best way you could possibly operate your business online.

By using website conversion nine out of ten web site clients see at least double digit growth using the conversion platform. This is definitely a good standard for the web site if it is just starting out and beginning to grow.

Web site conversion isn't difficult though you might not understand it, some people will use different companies on the Internet to help them with the web site conversion for a fee, which is perfectly normal. They often times explain how the web site conversion is going to work and how in the long term view of things benefit your web site as you start to see the growth and the generation of visitors to your web site. As well as returning visitors to your web site.

They encourage the probability of introducing new products or information on your web site for those returning visitors as well as the generated traffic that has never been to your web site. Either way both are an investment.

Web site conversion simplifies all the different areas you might not be familiar with starting out with a new web site and these companies can provide you with information or perhaps even help you on your web site conversion and all that pertains to getting that task accomplished.

However, for some people they are content with the generation of traffic they are already receiving through the use of Internet advertisements, and banners, but the web site conversion isn't really about this, its more on the selling power of your web site and the returning customers that will come back to your web site.

More web sites are doing the web site conversion with the help of different companies simply because of the turn out they see on other web sites. These web sites and affiliates know the program and how it operates, if you are unsure do a bit of research as well as talk to those who know about web site conversion.

Why RSS readers number change every day

The FeedBurner chicklet represents the number of people who read your blog with some kind of RSS reader in a 24 hour period. Subscribers is inferred from an analysis of the many different feed readers and aggregations (including RSS by Email) that retrieve this feed daily. Subscribers is not computed for browsers and bots that access the feed.

The number goes up and down because not everyone checks their RSS readers on a daily basis. The number generally goes down on weekends because people are out shopping/playing/doing whatever instead of being on the computer. A decrease in the number does not mean readers have unsubscribed from your feed. It just mean not as many readers accessed the feed that day.

This post is dedicated to all RSS lovers who look to subscription numbers every day. I think this post will calm many of them!

Create Compelling Site Titles and Descriptions

There are many places in your HTML you can include keywords, but the Titles and descriptions are arguably the most important elements of your Web site.

These places are not the most important in terms of their ability to improve rankings in the search engines, or in terms of the search engines's algorithm, but are most important in terms of their ability to compel someone to visit your Web site. That is, after all, the ultimate goal of search engine positioning, isn't it? Not a lot of point in attaining a top ranking in a search engine if you are just going to call you site "Shop Here."

Of course, both the title and the description META tag must be compelling, but the Title tag has special relevance, because so many search engines use the title exactly as it appears on your page. Some search engines will use the site description that you give in the META tags, but others will not. For this reason, the title of the site is more important than the site description.

Longer Titles are More Effective

Longer titles build a more compelling reason to visit a Web site. Because it takes a certain number of words to persuade someone to to take action, logic dictates that longer sentences have more opportunity to create that compelling argument. It is difficult to discuss time, money, value, and the problem that the Web site solves in just two or three words.

People often scan headlines in brochures and magazines, even when they don't read all the information. Since the title is usually a hyperlink, it is a different color, and it is generally bold and easier to read than the site's description in the search engine listing. When it is longer, there are more words with which to "hook" a reader. If something catches the reader's eye as they scroll down a list of site titles, they will hopefully read the site description. If you have done your work, they will be hooked.

People Don't Read Text, They Recognize Words

People don't read individual letters after about the time they turn 12 years old; they recognize words. Educators know that people glance at words and recognize the words by the shapes defined by the tops of the letters. If you don't believe it, take a sentence in any newspaper or book and cover the bottom half of the words. You can still read the words with relative ease. Now, cover the top of a different sentence. You will find that words are harder to read because there is not much difference in the shape or line of the bottom of the words. Interesting, but how does this apply here?

Here's how: Since people recognize words because the tops of words vary in height and appearance, then sentences that start with just one capital letter and then lowercase letters are easier to recognize and get read faster.

Words in all caps are hard to read. People don't like to read them and don't read them as easily. Recognizing the words in the sentences is tedious, and these listings are frequently overlooked.

Now I can say that Bux.to program is one of the best paid to click sites on the web. I received first payment and today I have another 25$ prepared for pay-out. If you still haven't joined the program you can do that HERE!.

It is time to introduce you with my best advertising program. It's not AdSense as you maybe think. Best advertiser which ads I use is Clicksor. I use pop-under ads and they work great for me. If you would like to join them, just click on the banner and sign-in. But be aware of their terms and conditions! Your site or blog will be accepted only if you have 150.000 monthly impressions!!!
